In line with our mission & objectives, D’Home provides the following services through our ongoing activities:1. Family Link Education Programme
* A free, 8 module course for families and caregivers of individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.
* The programme focuses on major psychiatric illnesses including Schizophrenia, bipolar disorder and major depression.
* The curriculum includes the understanding and clinical treatment of these illnesses and teaching caregivers how to cope more effectively.
* The modules are taught by mental health professionals and trained family member volunteers in a team teaching approach.
2. Family Support Group (FSG)
* Aims to provide a link for caregivers and family members where information, education and feelings can be shared in a comfortable, caring and supportive environment.
* The FSG meets regularly at D'Home premises and will be facilitated by a mental health professional or trained volunteers.
3. Bipolar Support Group
* The Bipolar Support Group provides emotional support, information, education and training for people with bipolar disorder.
4. Medical talks, seminars, workshops or forums
* Medical talks, seminars, workshops or forums are conducted regularly to create public awareness on mental health issues. This is part of D’ Home’s ongoing community service to its members and the general public.
5. Trainers Workshop
* D’Home also provides an intensive 1-day training workshop for volunteers interested in joining D’Home as facilitators for the Family Link Education Porgramme.6. Other Services
Training & Job Placements:
* D’Home in partnership with Penang General Hospital, also helps to arrange training and job placement for individuals who have recovered successfully and who are ready to be reintegrated into society subject to the advice of their doctors and medical professionals.
Free Counselling & Support:
* D’Home provides FREE counselling & support by our in-house clinical psychologist.
Train the Teachers in all Secondary School in Penang.
Police officers : Better in-depth understanding of mental illness and to form a task force to handle mental cases.
Provide Courses in other languages : (Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin and Tamil)
